What are the Do’s and Don’ts After a Chemical Peel?
A chemical peel can achieve smooth, radiant skin, as well as a feeling of freshness and rejuvenation. However, a peel does require some recovery time before you see your results. If you want to get the most benefit out of your chemical peel, follow these dos and don’ts during the healing process.
– Skin should be treated gently. Apply gentle or light lotions after you wash with a soft washcloth and warm water (not hot).
-While your skin is healing after a peel, use skin care products with antioxidants to keep it moisturized and hydrated.
– The direct sun shouldn’t be your friend, especially after a chemical peel. Avoid the sun as much as possible.
Don’ts
-You should never pick at your skin! During the shedding process, picking at your skin can be very tempting. Resist the urge.
-Skin irritation can be caused by sweat. Here’s one time you don’t have to go to the gym. Be sure not to overwork yourself while you’re recovering, stay away from the sauna or steam room, and stay cool while you’re recovering.
